Thank You for stopping in to take a look at out website.
We are
enthusiastically devoted to gently caring for our clients horses.
We are located in the NorthWest Peace Country near
Fairview, Alberta
and service clients throughout the entire Mighty Peace area.
In the way of a short history, my initial experience with
horses, other than
the occasional visit to a riding stable, began in the mid '80's while living
in Ontario. I was taken under the wing of an Amish farmer where I
learned the ways of farming with heavy horses and horse drawn machinery.
It was while in this environment that my interest was led toward caring
for the feet of a few friends horses.. I began to do a little trimming and
shoeing and found I really liked the work and thought that to continue I had
better get some training.
After much research I attended the farrier program at
Seneca College in
King City, Ontario studying under the capable tutelage of Mel Livingstone
and graduating with high honors. (It is a known fact that we really excel at
the things we enjoy and I really enjoy shoeing horses).
At this time I began a private practice in South Western
Ontario servicing
mostly Western pleasure and performance horses as well as hunter, jumper
and event horses.
I realized back then how important it was to continue my
education, and
as a result have attended numerous clinics, seminars, professional conventions
and symposiums over the years to keep up on the newest developments.
This included attending the "Bluegrass Laminitis Symposium" in Louisville,
Kentucky.

I am a member of the
Western Canadian Farriers Association and the American Farriers Association, subscribing
to several farrier, hoof care and equine publications. |
I have done and will continue to give
lectures and demonstrations to pony
clubs, 4H clubs and other interested parties on the proper management of
the equine hoof. This is one way in which I can give something back to the
horse industry that I love so much.
